This major prepares students for careers in areas such as consumer affairs, county extension agent, human services, financial advising, and parent education, that require a broad base in all aspects of family and consumer science. The students in this option select an area of concentration that provides them with a focus for their intended career. Areas of concentration chosen could include such topics as early childhood family education (ECFE), business, journalism, communications, psychology, sociology, or social work.
