The information management major offers the student the opportunity to combine a liberal arts education and computer applications with solid professional preparation for entering one of the fastest growing employment markets in the country. Information professionals hold positions in a wide variety of settings including corporate offices, hospitals, human service organizations, research and development offices, government agencies, marketing departments, and libraries. This program provides learning opportunities for both knowledge and skills and encourages students to apply this learning in a variety of contexts. Both major and minor programs are offered. These programs are offered only in the Weekend College. Interested Day Program students should consult the department chair, Joanne Valerius (jdvalerius@stkate.edu). The information management major can be obtained with either the B.A. or the B.S. degree.
