Jennifer Biggs Miller, PT, MPH
Assistant Professor

Jennifer is the primary year II instructor, teaching PTA 2000 “Treatment Techniques III” and PTA 2250 “PT in the Health Care Delivery System”. She co-teaches PTA 1160 “Treatment Techniques II” for the 1st year students, covering the information on electrical stimulation.

Ms Miller received a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1997. She completed her master of public health at the University of Minnesota in the spring of 2002. Ms. Miller authored her master of public health thesis, “Minnesotans in Need: Addressing the Health Care Needs of Latinos in Minnesota”. This article was submitted for publication to Minnesota Medicine in May of 2002. She is currently enrolled in the Health Services Research, Policy, and Administration PhD program at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.

Prior to joining the PTA program in 2003, Ms Miller practiced physical therapy in a large acute care hospital as a Senior PT. Recently, she worked primarily in the practice settings of wound care and cardiac rehabilitation. In the past, her caseload has included orthopedic, neurological and pediatric patients, both inpatient and outpatient. She continues to practice PT when school is not in session.

Ms Miller has been active in the Minneapolis community with various activities. She recently volunteered as a proctor for PT students at the Phillips Neighborhood Clinic, which serves the health care needs of the homeless. In addition, Ms. Miller has been a coach for the Minneapolis Special Olympics swim team.

Ms Miller is married and has a son who was born in July of 2004.
