Career Development Services

The Career Development Office offers a wide range of services and resources to assist you throughout your career development process. Remember that career development is a process – not just something to think about at the end of your senior year! The skills that you learn by working with our career counselors will serve you throughout your lifetime as you grow and develop in, and sometimes change your career. It’s never too early to get started, so make plans to visit our office or attend a program as soon as possible. We look forward to working with you.

The Career Development Office can help you with:
· Selecting a major
· Reflecting on your skills, interests, and values
· Learning about career paths that might interest you
· Writing cover letters and resumes
· Perfecting your interviewing skills
· Networking conducting informational interviews with St. Kate’s alumnae
· Finding and applying for jobs and internships
· Selecting and applying for graduate school

Services we offer include:
· Individualized career counseling appointments
· Walk-In Hours for those “quick questions” with no appointment needed
· Practice interviews (videotaped upon request)
· Resume, cover letter, and personal statement critiques
· Job and internship search assistance
· Access to KatieClick job and internship database
· Access to the Alumnae Database
· A comprehensive career library
· Interpretation of Strong and MBTI assessments
· Frequent workshops and programs, including our annual Backpack to Briefcase program
· Indi 200: Career Development for Women (2-credit course) offered each semester
· On-campus interviews with a variety of employers
· Several career fairs, including our annual St. Kate’s Career Opportunities Fair, Minnesota Private Colleges Job and Internship Fair, Government Career Fair, Nonprofit Career Fair, and Education Career Fair
