The St. Catherine University Counseling Center is a confidential service staffed by professional psychologists made available to students free of charge. Services include short-term counseling and consultation as well as referral to community resources. We moved to Room 330 - Derham Hall To set up an appointment with a counselor, please call 651-690-6805 Appointments September - May The most certain way of seeing a counselor is to call or stop by and arrange an appointment in advance. The administrative assistant in the Counseling Center can tell you when times are available and schedule you for an appointment. To make an appointment, please call us at: 651-690-6805. Our office hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. We are located in room 330 - Derham Hall Appointments are typically forty-five minutes in length and generally begin at fifteen minutes after the hour. Counseling services are in high demand. If you are unable to keep an appointment, please call to cancel as soon as possible, preferably at least 24 hours in advance.This allows us to use the appointment time for another student who is waiting to see a counselor. If you arrive 15 minutes late for your scheduled appointment, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment. Crisis Counseling: One hour each day is also set aside for “Crisis Counseling.” This is for students who have urgent and immediate counseling needs. No appointment is necessary although it is often helpful to call ahead and let us know you are coming. Students are seen on a first-come-first served-basis so it is best to come a little early. In order to insure that you have adequate time to meet with a counselor, please plan to arrive within 30 minutes of the beginning scheduled Crisis Counseling Hour. For example, if Crisis Counseling begins at 11:00 a.m., please arrive no later that 11:30 am. On days when Crisis Counseling begins at 2 p.m., please arrive no later that 2:30 p.m. If you arrive later than half past the hour, please be aware that the counselor may not be able to meet with you. The counselor will, however, make every effort to get you scheduled for another time slot.
