Community Leadership Program
The Community Leadership Program is an off-campus student employment program where students develop their professional skills and leadership capacity, while also engaging in meaningful work within a community organization or school.
While working in the community, students develop professional and leadership skills. Students are supported by a site supervisor and program coordinator at St. Kate's, have regular meetings to evaluate and reflect on their work, and participate in monthly seminars with other students in the program. Currently, we work with eleven community sites.
In April 2010, and again in 2011, The C. Charles Jackson Foundation awarded Community Work and Learning a grant to deepen leadership development work within the Community Leadership Program. Funds go towards marketing/communications, seminar development and a new leadership retreat for all Community Leadership Program students.
