Community Leadership Program Position: NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center

"I work at in a team of physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners and dieticians to help inform people with diabetes. I assist patients in scheduling appointments, maintaining charts, rooming, and teaching them how to best manage their diabetes. I also call patients for follow-ups after each clinic visit. I have learned a lot from interacting with the patients at NorthPoint. I learned that each person's situation is different and to educate each one according to his or her personal needs. I love educating people about their health and I hope that I can start a project that will allow me to continue to train individuals in maintaining a healthy lifestyle."
