Welcome to the Early Childhood Center!

St. Catherine University Early Childhood Center offers a Montessori School and a Children’s Center to serve the needs of the University students, staff, and faculty as well as the surrounding community. These two Early Childhood Center programs operate together under the guidance of the Early Childhood Center Director. The Early Childhood Center is licensed by the State Department of Human Services and meets or exceeds its minimum requirements.

Mission
The Early Childhood Center serves St. Catherine University in support of its mission to meet the unique needs of women. Founded in 1931 by Sr. Ann Harvey, CSJ, the Center meets a vital need for quality care and education of the young children of St. Catherine students, faculty, staff, and surrounding community as well as an academic need for observation and fieldwork placements. The Center assists children to fully develop physically, spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally in order that they may become future peaceful leaders in a diverse society.

Diversity Statement
The Center strives to honor, support, and celebrate the diversity of its children, families, and staff. Diversity is interpreted in the broadest sense and includes race, language, faith background, family structure, sexual orientation, and economic status.
