The Office of Institutional Research & Planning

Services We Offer

The Office of Institutional Research and Planning (IRP) is the central administrative unit for reporting data about the university. One of the primary functions of this office is to share data that support the college's effectiveness, policy-making, planning, and decision-making. Data collection is available to the entire campus community upon request as well as through regularly scheduled reports.

In addition to ad-hoc reporting we regularly distribute data under three classifications, internal publications, major surveys and external reports. A complete list of these reports follows.

Internal Publications
Major data publications by IRP include the following: Fact Book, EMM Ten Day Report, the Three Year Summary, and CSC Quick Facts.

The Fact Book serves as a convenient reference for current and historical college data, using comparison data from the previous 10 years. This document is updated each November.
The EMM Ten Day Report is published following the 10th day of the fall, winter, and spring terms (only the fall 10 day is published on the web). It is typically available by the middle of each term. This report documents the college's official enrollment each year. This particular report has been designed around the needs of the enrollment management matrix and helps to guide the work of that committee.
The Three Year Summary includes data similar to the Fact Book and EMM Ten Day Report, however, it includes only the most commonly requested data and presents it in a 3 year format for simple interpretation and quick access to comparison data. The summary is updated each November.
CSC Quick Facts is a website-only summary of general information about the college. Quick Facts are updated each October.

Major Surveys
The Office of Institutional Research and Planning administers several annual benchmarking and comparison surveys. IRP will provide reports and present summaries of these surveys upon request, and typically presents these findings at annual events such as the Teaching Learning Network, Opening Workshop, and Enrollment Management Meetings. The major surveys administered by IRP include; ACE-CIRP, NSSE, and Alumnae Surveys.

ACE-CIRP is administered to first time, first year students during fall orientation
The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) surveys first year and fourth year students every other year
Alumnae Surveys are administered each summer to all 1, 5, and 10 year out graduates of the baccalaureate degree programs and graduate programs. Associate program graduates are surveyed by the office of the Associate Dean for Health Professions.
