How do we deal with ethical issues we encounter during our working life? Often it is difficult to know what the "right" choice is when there are dilemmas that pose a conflict between out organization's needs and our needs, or the needs of other stakeholders. What happens when we are asked (or expected) to compromise our values? Does your employer support the authentic person you try to be or undermine your efforts? If you are self-employed, do you take the time to measure the ethics of your daily choices?
Join us at the Woman's Club of Minneapolis for a panel of two leading experts in a discussion of ethics in business in the global world. We will discuss strategies and tolls for facing these decisions with integrity and character while maintaining our credibility as professionals.
About our panel:
Kathleen Edmond is the Cheif Ethics Officer at best Buy (in fact she created the department), and a recipient of the Ethics Resource Center Carol R. Marshall Award for leadership in business ethics. Her acclaimed blog is a must-read for everyone who cares about doing the right thing; www.kathleenedmond.com.
Dawn R. Elm, Ph.D. is a professor of Ethics management at the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business. She has published on the topic of ethics and business decision making, and believes there should be no distinction between the two.
