Anti-Spam tool
As of February 2006, the college is using the Can-It anti-spam tool. Most people have noticed a significant decrease in the amount of spam in their e-mail accounts.
No anti-spam tool is perfect. Legitimate messages may be incorrectly blocked as spam and spam messages will still sneak through.
If you believe a legitimate message was incorrectly blocked, please contact the Helpdesk via e-mail or at 651-690-6402. We can work with you to release an incorrectly blocked message or otherwise investigate the situation.
If you want to control your anti-spam options, we will set you up with your own account for the Can-It anti-spam system. With an account on Can-It, you can
- check the queue of messages tagged as spam for your account
- release any legitimate messages
- report messages as spam
- set your own spam filtering levels
- write your own anti-spam rules
- send yourself an automatic notification, summarizing the spam messages in your anti-spam queue
If you contact Computing Services, wanting to report a message as spam, we will offer to set up an account for you so you can do your own reporting.
If you have any questions or wish to offer feedback on the Can-It anti-spam tool, please contact the Helpdesk via e-mail or at 651-690-6402.
