Storage of Files on Network

Computing Services Disk Space Allocations for Students.

Network storage of computer files is intended to support the academic mission of the College of St. Catherine. Just like the paper file cabinets they have replaced, network drives have limited space, cost money to acquire and require labor to maintain. Like any shared computer resource we must set rules and limits to assure the needs of the College as a whole are met.

1. Personal Computer Account File Storage Limits = 50 Mb or 1000 files

2. E-mail Account Message File Limits = 30 Mb

Common types of files that tend to use up a great deal of space include, but are not limited to, MP3s, sound and video clips, graphics, and .exe files.

If you have questions about space allocation, please contact the Helpdesk at 690-6402.
