I did my graduate studies at California Institute of the Arts, earning an M.F.A. in Photography and Video, followed by graduate studies at the University of Rochester, where I received an M.A. in Visual and Cultural Theory. My studies were made possible through a Jacob K. Javits Fellowship. My interest in pedagogy, social class, and community fuels my commitment to use technology in the classroom. At Indiana University where I was a visiting faculty member, I felt it was important to introduce students to digital media at all levels of instruction. Before joining the staff at St. Kate's, I conducted technology workshops at liberal arts colleges across the country, including schools within the
Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) and
Great Lakes Colleges Association (GLCA).
As a practicing artist, I have received the
McKnight Artist Fellowships for Photographers, as well as the Jerome Foundation travel grant.
My artwork can be seen on the McKnight site, as well as
MNartists.org.
Currently, I am serving on the artist panel in the
Minnesota Artist Exhibition Program (MAEP), a curatorial department within the
Minneapolis Institute of Arts. I am also a board member with
Women’s Art Registry of Minnesota (WARM).
