Chain Mail and Other E-mail Issues
Forwarding chain letter e-mail messages to people you do not know using your Lotus Notes e-mail account or College of St. Catherine computer resources is a violation of computing policies. Sending out such mass e-mailings taxes the entire computer system, making the system slower for everyone on campus. These chain messages are often hoaxes. Even if they are true, they tend to be highly annoying to the recipients of your junk mail.
Anyone caught sending out a chain letter using St Kate's resources will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action, which may include suspension or revocation of your computer privileges. Click on the people link on the left to access a link to the full college computing policies.
If you receive an chain e-mail, DO NOT forward it on. If you have questions about the authenticity of an e-mail offer you receive, please contact the Helpdesk at x6402 before forwarding it to anyone. If you are trying to communicate a message to the campus, contact the Helpdesk at x6402 about the most appropriate means to do so.
