ACDC Grants

The Academic Community Development Committee (ACDC) supports four faculty research grant opportunities: the Graduate Faculty Research Grant, the Undergraduate Faculty Research Grant, the Arts and Humanities Collaborative Research Grant, and the Faculty Research & Scholarly Activities Grant. In order to apply for any of these grants, complete the application according to the instructions attached below.

Graduate Faculty Research Grant
The Graduate Faculty Research Grant supports sustained work on a research project for a faculty member who teaches in the graduate program.

One course release or a $3,700 grant will be awarded. Please make arrangements with the Graduate Program Director if you are applying for a course release. Recipients must use the funds for expenses incurred between June 1, 2010 and May 30, 2011, or must take the course release during the 2010-2011 academic year.

Undergraduate Faculty Research Grant
The Undergraduate Faculty Research Grant supports sustained work on a research project for a faculty member who teaches in the undergraduate program.

Arts and Humanities Collaborative Research Grant
Arts and Humanities Collaborative Research Grants aim to promote student-faculty collaborative research in the arts and humanities, and especially to encourage student research and/or creative production. Action research, partnerships with other disciplines, and community partnerships are encouraged.

Two grants of up to $1,750 will be awarded. Recipients must use the funds for expenses incurred between June 1, 2010 and May 30, 2011.

Faculty Research and Scholarly Activities Grant
Faculty Research and Scholarly Activities Grants aim to improve the quality of education and promote research, scholarship and creativity among faculty.

Several grants of up to $2,000 will be awarded. A portion of available funds is set aside for each of the application periods. Recipients of the October grant must use awarded funds by May 31, 2010. Recipients of the April grant must use the funds for expenses incurred between June 1, 2010 and May 31, 2011.
