This past summer I participated in collaborative research with a professor of mine in the Biology department. Dr. Marcie Myers was conducting a study on “The Kinetics and Metabolic Costs of Walking with a Belly Load in Women.” I helped to organize the research study, recruit participants, conduct the experiment and collect the data. Throughout my experiences in researching I have gained confidence and knowledge in the Biology field. I was completely engaged in the research, experiencing what it would be like to do research in my career field. I think this experience helped me decide to attend graduate school.
