The ELITE Curriculum: Ethical Leadership Intertwining with Technological Excellence

July 27, 2007 - Congratulations to David Lesniaski, Mary Wagner and the entire MLIS faculty and staff on an award from The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) for the ELITE (Ethical Leadership Intertwining with Technological Excellence) Curriculum. The award provides $352,526 over three years to design and implement "an innovative Library and Information Science curriculum that combines competence in librarianship/information science with the knowledge, attributes, skills and capacities that will be essential to future successful professionals. These include an understanding of ethical principles as they apply to librarianship and information science, exposure to and practice with research methods, development of leadership and communications skills and technological fluency. The new curriculum will incorporate interdisciplinary learning in leadership, research, communication, philosophy, ethics, education and information technology."
