Announcing a New Grant Award

Upon receipt of an Award, Grant Managers should work with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) or Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) to prepare press release info to send to the Communications Office. The Communications Office will prepare an official announcement for both internal and external audiences.

ORSP and CFR will also prepare an announcement for the Daily Update and for inclusion in the "News Headlines" on the College of St. Catherine website. Depending on the nature of the grant award, we might also make an announcement in the Squeaky Wheel, an electronic newsletter for faculty and staff, or The Wheel, the student newspaper.

ORSP would also like to include your project/program in the CSC Research and Grant Showcase. We will contact you to make arrangements for a "photo shoot" so that we can spotlight your work on our website and on our bulletin board (Grants are spotlighted on a rotating basis).

Highlighting Ongoing Projects and Programs

Grant managers should also:
  • Send us information regarding upcoming events or key milestones and achievements that we can pass along to the Communications Office and include on our website.
  • Send us photographs (action and event shots are especially compelling) of key players, participants and events. Remember that each person photographed must complete a Photo Release Form and submit it to our office so that we may include the photo on our website. Also remember that research involving Human Subjects and requiring IRB review often requires confidentiality in the collection of subject data, which means you may not be able to take or submit photographs of participants in such projects.
  • Send us links to your own websites as well as any other items that could be included in our website to help highlight your program (electronic brochures, publications, etc.). Contact ORSP if you would like additional information on setting up your own website!
