Bookstore
The Bookstore provides required and recommended texts for St. Catherine's courses. Also available are reference and general books, school supplies, computer software, snacks, greeting cards, St. Catherine's clothing, gift items, health and beauty needs and other items.

In June, the Bookstore is open 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday (until 6:00 p.m. on Friday on Weekend College weekends), and 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

In July and August, the Bookstore hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday unless posted on the Bookstore door. The Bookstore is typically open whenever there is a special even on campus as well.

Safety and Security
The safety and security of students, faculty and staff are of the utmost importance. While campus safety is the responsibility of every member of the campus community, the college employs trained security officers whose main responsibilities include the safety and security of the individuals on campus and the property of the college.

Computing Services
Students have access to computers through seven public computer labs and fourteen department specific computer labs located in various buildings on the two campuses and small labs in each residence hall. All students are provided access to the college's data network and through it access to the lotus Notes email system, the Internet, the Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.), the Blackboard Course Management System and to a limited amount of on-line file storage. Help desk services are provided by professional staff during weekday business hours and by student assistants located in the St. Paul Library computer lab during all hours the Library is open. Computing Service offices are located in the Library section of the Coeur de Catherine Building on the St. Paul campus.

Butler Center for Sports and Fitness
The Butler Center for Sports and Fitness offers a wide variety of recreational options for currently enrolled St. Catherine's students. These are free of charge when you show your current College of St. Catherine I.D. card.

Butler Center facilities include:

  • Cardiovascular equipment with reading racks available: treadmills, stair steppers, stationary bikes, rowers, ellipticals
  • Strength equipment: free weights and Paramount machines; belts available
  • Indoor pool: call 651-690-8777 for pool hours
  • Gym: basketballs, volleyballs, soccer balls, footballs, jump ropes and Frisbees may be checked out
  • Racquetball courts: racquets, balls and goggles are available at the front desk
  • Wallyball in the racquetball courts: equipment and rules available
  • Outdoor tennis courts: racquets available. Sand volleyball courts: beach volleyballs available
  • Aerobics classes: call 651-690-8777 for schedule.

    Library
    St. Catherine's libraries welcome summer students. Staff are happy to help you with information needs. Together the collections include more than 260,000 books and 1,400 journal subscriptions. In addition, the library provides accesss to the collections of other libraries through its membership in the Cooperating Libraries in Consortium (CLIC) with access to more than 1 million volumes and 5,000 periodical subscriptions, and to the collections of libraries statewide and nationally through the MINITEX and Interlibrary Loan sysems. Electronic journal and newspaper indexes, online full-text journals, videotapes, recordings, slides and filmstrips also are available and reference librarians can help patrons access the wealth of information available on the Internet. A bar-coded student I.D. is required to check out books and to use some databases. Complete library hours will be posted at the beginning of each Summer Session.

    O'Neill Center for Academic Development
    The O'Neill Center for Academic Development offers assistance with writing papers, understanding math, studying for tests and providing accommodations and counseling for disabilities. Summer hours will be posted on the O'Neill Center website and bulletin boards. The center is located on the ground floor of the Coeur de Catherine.

    Residence Life
    On-campus housing is available to students and guests of the college, including conferences and Summer Session students. For information and/or housing application forms, please call the Residence Life Office at 651-690-6617. Male student housing is very limited. If interested, please contact Residence Life or go to their Website at http://www.stkate.edu/residencelife by April 15th.
