Students are encouraged to review "Academic Information" in the undergraduate and graduate catalogs for a complete description of all degree requirements.
Associate Degree Programs
All candidates for an associate degree must fulfill the following graduation requirements. Students should complete an online "Intent to Graduate" four months prior to commencement (see deadlines listed above).
Completion of all program requirements within seven years of admittance to the College of St. Catherine.
Completion of the college residency requirement of a minimum of 30 semester credits .
A.S. and A.A.S. degrees only: Completion of all professional courses within five years of beginning the sequence.
Baccalaureate Programs
The Office of the Registrar monitors seniors’ progress toward graduation. Students should complete an online "Intent to Graduate" six and a half to seven months prior to commencement (see deadlines listed above). All candidates for a B.A. or B.S. degree must fulfill the following graduation requirements:
A minimum of 130 semester credits including:
a) completion of the liberal arts core requirements for either the B.A. or B.S. degree, as appropriate to the major;
b) acceptance into and completion of the requirements for an approved major;
c) a minimum of 80 semester credits outside the department of the major, or outside the department with the most courses required as part of an interdepartmental major.
Demonstration of required proficiencies in writing, and information and technology.
Completion of the college residency requirement of a minimum of 64 semester credits.
This residency requirement is reduced to a minimum of 48 semester credits at CSC if 57 or more semester credits are transferred prior to enrollment at CSC.
Completion of the senior residency requirement of 24 of the last 32 semester credits in residence.
Completion of an Intent to Graduate form.
A cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
Masters Programs
Students in the MAED, MANU, MAOL, MAOT, MAT and MPT programs must file an online Intent to Graduate form with the registrar's office by the deadlines listed above.
MSW students should file a Petition for Graduation form with the MSW office during the term prior to that in which all graduate requirements will be completed.
MLIS students receive their degrees from Dominican University and must comply with the requirements of that institution. MLIS students should refer to the MLIS website for details about the graduation process.
Students who have successfully completed all degree requirements as specified by their programs are hooded at the college's graduation ceremony. The College of St. Catherine holds a graduation ceremony in May and December. The University of St. Thomas holds a graduation ceremony in May, July and December. Dominican University holds a graduation ceremony in January and May.
Diplomas
Students who complete degrees may expect to receive their diplomas four to six weeks after graduation.
A hold is placed on diplomas until all tuition, fees, room and board are paid in full.
