Applying to Weekend College

How to Apply for Admission
  1. Follow application instructions and submit the application (paper copy or online).
  2. Request that official transcripts be sent to the Weekend College Admission office, using transcript request forms found with the application.*
  3. Respond promptly to admission staff when additional information requested.

*Translation and/or evaluation of transcripts for coursework taken outside the United States may be required. Please allow extra time for this process (up to nine months in some cases).

If you plan to be a Second Major, Second Degree, Non-Degree, Auditing, or Reenrolling student or wish to sign up for a Summer Session course, please see the Special Notes section found below.

Special Notes
Second Majors or Second Degrees
Students who already have earned a bachelor's degree may obtain a second major or a second degree at the College of St. Catherine. (Students interested in the Social Work major must pursue a second degree). If you seek a second major or second degree, follow the procedures designated for each on the application form. Second majors do not need to submit high school transcripts.

Nondegree-seeking Students
If you are taking courses for personal enrichment or career enhancement, you may wish to take classes as a Nondegree-seeking student. If you wish to change your status to degree-seeking after starting classes, you must complete the official application procedures through the Office of Weekend College Admission. Admission as a nondegree-seeking student does not guarantee admission as a degree-seeking student.

Re-enrolling Students
Please read the following information carefully to determine if you should fill out the Reenrollment Application or the regular Weekend College Application.

You are a re-enrolling student if you have previously attended the College as a degree seeking student in a baccalaureate program, been gone longer than one year (three terms) and want to return to finish your degree. (You are not a Reenroll if you are a graduate of an Associate program or a Baccalaureate program--please fill out the regular Weekend College application.)

Students who have been gone longer than one year (three terms), but less than seven, need to submit the Reenrollment Application and have any additional official transcripts (if you have attended classes at a different institution after leaving St. Catherine’s) sent to the Weekend College Admission office.

Students who have been gone seven years or more, will need to re-create their file in order to be reactivated. This involves filling out the regular Weekend College Admission application (paper or online) and submitting all official transcripts.

Questions? Confused? Please call our office at 651-690-6542 and ask to speak with the admission counselor that handles re-enrolls.

Please note: Students who have been away from the college for up to one year (three terms) can register through the Weekend College academic advisor (or may even be able to register through the Registrar's office) and need not reapply to the college. Please call our office at 651-690-6542 and ask for one of the Weekend College academic advisors to discuss.

Auditors
Students wishing to audit a course in Weekend College sign up for the course in the Registrar's Office. Alumnae also must submit a waiver form from the Alumnae Office to the Office of Student Accounts.

Summer Session
During the summer, the college offers courses that are not part of the Weekend College schedule. Summer Session courses are recorded on your regular transcript, and you receive full course value. Summer Session has open admission through the Office of the Registrar; students need not be formally admitted to the college to take classes. Summer Session Information is usually posted on their website sometime in March. Students who have not yet done so, however, must formally apply to Weekend College Admission to continue academic work during the regular academic year.
