Weekend Program

Financial Aid Program

St. Catherine University provides more than $60 million annually in financial aid for qualified students and is committed to helping students uncover all possible resources for financing students' education. During the 2006-2007 academic year, two-thirds of Weekend College students received some form of financial assistance. Our financial aid programs include funds from federal, state, University and private sources. These sources offer grants, scholarships, loans and employment programs.

Most financial aid programs require that students enroll for a half-time course of study (four credits per term for Weekend College) or more. Limited funding is available for students who are enrolled less than half time (less than four credits per term) from the Minnesota Grant and Pell Grant programs.

Financial aid awards are based on demonstrated financial need according to federal, state and University guidelines. Most aid is awarded during the first four years of study to students who have not yet received a bachelor's degree. Federal tax credits are available to offset some of a student's educational costs.

Outside Scholarship and Grant Resources

Other resources outside of St. Catherine frequently offer scholarship aid. Your local public library and our financial aid office have reference materials for these scholarship sources. You are also able to search online through FASTWEB.com, a scholarship search service for students. We don't recommend paying for any service offering to help you locate scholarships, since all of the information is available free.

If students are awarded financing and receive scholarships or grants not already listed on the University award notice, they must notify the financial aid office immediately. The loan and work portion of the financial aid award will be adjusted by the amount of the scholarship.
