For Parents…..

On Sunday, September 6, we have a wonderful parent and family program taking place during the same time students begin their own orientation. Following the move-in process and a picnic lunch, join us for a lively, engaging, and witty program that will make you laugh and give pause to the transition you and your family members will experience when launching a daughter off to college. You won’t want this performance by Shanon Wexler, who is not only an accomplished actress in the Twin Cities, but one of St. Kate’s faculty who has taught in the Theatre and Core Curriculum departments. Our program will also provide parents with hands-on resources of when and where to assist their daughter when she needs support and encouragement in making her own successful transition to university life. The parent program will take place from 3-4:30 p.m. Following the Parent Program, parent and students will meet up in the Chapel for a sending off program. So, plan to spend the day with us! If you have any questions, feel free to contact Ellen Richter-Norgel, Director of Student Retention and Co-chair, Parent and Family Association, erichter-norgel@stkate.edu, 651.690-8730. For Students……
The first step to a successful college career is attendance and active participation in First Year Orientation. Our program will provide your daughter with all of the information she needs to have a successful transition to St. Kate’s. Our goal is to ensure that she is welcomed and feels supported during the orientation process so that she feels prepared both academically and socially.

Orientation is designed to assist your daughter with the transition to St Kate’s academic and student life, provide her an opportunity to become familiar with campus, meet faculty and staff, and help her get ready for college life. In addition, the Orientation program will introduce your daughter to college resources, campus facilities, student services, social and recreational activities and answer any questions she may have concerning St. Kate’s and the college experience. It is a chance to make new friends and begin academic life positively.

Questions about Orientation should be directed to Student Center & Activities at 651.690.6210 or visit their web site.
