Activity 1 Follow-up

Here are a few responses you may or may not have considered. Use these as part of your discussion - Do you agree? Disagree? Why or why not?

"We get 'should on' by many other people" quote by Gary Sanderson. His point here is that often times other people have opinions about what we should do or should be doing to improve our work. Students, teachers, other interpreter colleagues may offer suggestions to us, which can be helpful, but often times are not. Change does not come from an outside source, but from within.

• It gives you an opportunity to prioritize and organize your goals.
• It offers a source and sense of accountability.
• It addresses the old saying "Out of sight - out of mind." By putting it in writing (and referring back to it on a regular basis!!!) it stays "in mind."
• It gives you a place to measure and document progress.
