I earned her Baccalaureate degree from the University of Utah, my Masters degree in nurse-midwifery from University of Minnesota and just recently earned a Doctor of Nursing practice from St. Catherine University. In addition, I am a Certified Nurse-midwife.
I have been teaching women’s health at St. Catherine University since the year 2000 and I'm a tenured assistant professor. I have served on nursing program and university committees.
I have worked in women’s health since 1984. Working in the healthcare field I've had the opportunity to study multicultural womens health care in Australia, New Zealand and India.
I helped to develop and piloted services for students at the St. Kate’s Health and Wellness center. In addition, I worked as a volunteer and paid employee of the West Suburban Teen clinic. Participated on a task force that was successful in offering nurse-midwife services at Park Nicollet Clinic and Methodist hospital. Lastly, I have also been an air-medical transport nurse in high risk OB at the University of Utah.
My primary areas of interest include: Women’s health and expanding the nursing curriculum to be inclusive of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender health care issues.
