Patti has recently joined the physical therapy assistant faculty as an assistant professor. She co-teaches the first year PTA 1160, “Interventions II” and second year PTA 2000, “Interventions III”.
Ms. Magnus earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of St Thomas. She has served as a guest lecturer in the physical therapy and occupational therapy programs at St. Catherine University and the University of Minnesota. In addition to her teaching assignments at St. Catherine University PTA program, Ms Magnus serves as an associate faculty member for the University of Minnesota DPT first year clerkship course.
Prior to joining the PTA program in 2010, Ms Magnus had practiced in a wide range of settings including hospitals, rehab centers, outpatient clinics and senior settings in leadership and staff positions. Highlights of her career have included rehab business development, program launch in oncology and orthopedics, clinical staff training and back pain prevention programs. She is currently working on call in a senior independent and assisted living setting in addition to teaching.
Ms Magnus is married and has one son and two daughters.
