Associate Professor Paul E. Niemuth is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy and Athletic Training in 1977. He received a Master of Arts Degree from the University of St. Thomas in Education in 1998 as well as a Doctor of Science in Sports Physical Therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2003. Dr. Niemuth received his certification from the American Physical Therapy Association as an "Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist" in 2000 and a "Sports Clinical Specialist" in 2003.
Paul is a Certified Athletic Trainer and serves as the Assistant Athletic Trainer for St. Catherine University's athletic department.
Dr. Niemuth is an adjunct faculty member at the Hennepin County Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program where he teaches physicians on orthopaedic and sports injury rehabilitation. He is the founder and former owner of Orthopaedic Sports, Inc., an outpatient Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Physical Therapy Clinic since 1978.
His primary research interests are Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine related topics. Dr. Niemuth has been at St. Catherine University since 1997 and teaches course content in Anatomy, Kinesiology, Diagnosis, Musculoskeletal Systems, Clinical Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
