I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of WI-Milwaukee in 2003 and my Master of Science, majoring in Nurse Education, from Minnesota State University, Mankato in May 2012. My thesis research was titled Nursing students' attitudes toward end-of-life care. I am currently in a PhD program at UW-Milwaukee. My area of research continues in palliative care/end-of-life care and communication. I started teaching at St. Catherine University in the fall of 2012.
My teaching interests include end-of-life nursing care, community health, and an introduction to nursing. As a teacher, I want to reduce nursing student anxiety and create a community atmosphere in the classroom or clinical to facilitate the best learning possible.
I have practice experience in medical-surgical, oncology, hospice, and orthopedic nursing. I currently work on an orthopedic unit at St. Joseph's Hospital. I am also certified in medical-surgical nursing.
