Sarah Park Dahlen is a native of Los Angeles, California. She teaches courses on children’s and young adult materials, children's and young adult library services, storytelling, social justice, and library and information science. Currently, she is examining representations of transracially adopted Koreans in children's literature and the information behaviors of transnationally adopted Koreans. She co-edited a children's and young adult multicultural literature textbook with Dr. Jamie Naidoo for ALA Editions, and is examining how digital apps can promote cultural competency for their next project.
Dr. Dahlen has served on the Jane Addams Children's Literature Awards committee and is currently serving on the Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association's Children's Literature Awards committee. She is an active member of the Children's Literature Association and is serving on the ChLA Diversity Committee. Dr. Dahlen just completed serving as co-chair of the ALISE Youth Services Special Interest Group. She is co-advisor for the St. Kate’s Asian Women's Association and convenes the Twin Cities Youth Literature Interest Group.
