Our Mission

The Department of Residence Life supports and challenges resident students in their personal and academic development by partnering with residents to create a respectful community environment that encourages shared learning.

Commitment to Diversity

The community at the College of St. Catherine is ever-changing and diverse. We are a multicultural community of individuals, and we are all unique and deserving of respect. We are of diverse beliefs and experiences. We believe that our residence hall and college community is enhanced and enriched through the diversity that each individual contributes. We are unique in that we strive to work and live together, and in the process, we can learn from one another in an atmosphere of positive contact and mutual respect.

We are committed to providing an environment within the residence halls where all student and staff, regardless of differences, can feel safe, secure and supported in their academic, spiritual, personal, and professional efforts. We are committed to behaving and expecting others to behave in ways that are respectful of each member of our community. We believe that we are individually and collectively responsible for our behavior and fully accountable for our actions.

Bigotry has no place within our community, nor does the right to denigrate another human being on the basis of age, mental or physical capabilities, national origin, political beliefs, economic class, sexual orientation, race, gender, religious affiliation, or spiritual affinity. We will not tolerate any forms of harassment including verbal or written abuse, threats, intimidation or violence against any member or visitor of our community.
