Trash, Recycling, and Energy Conservation
Trash: Trash disposal sites are designated in each building. Trash is picked up on a regular basis. To avoid pests and smells, please place your trash in tied, plastic bags before disposing in chutes or collection containers.
Recycling: St. Catherine University participates in a recycling program. Please place all recyclable items in the appropriate bins located throughout the building. Additional information about recycling is posted in your building.
Energy Conservation: Please conserve heat, light, electrical energy, and water whenever possible. Windows should be kept shut when the heat or air-conditioning is on. Both storm and inside windows should be shut when a room is unoccupied. Incandescent lights should always be turned off if not needed. Fluorescent lights should be left on if the space will be occupied within a half hour. If the space will be vacant for a half hour or more, turn the lights off. It costs more to turn on a fluorescent light than to leave it on for 30 minutes.
