3M Research Grants
The Center of Excellence for Women, Science and Technology is proud to administer two grants funded by 3M for students and faculty at the College of St. Catherine. These grants provides opportunities for students and faculty to do collaborative research, thereby helping students to develop laboratory and leadership skills for graduate school and professional careers.
- The Small Scale Student-Faculty Collaborative Research Grants support faculty and students who collaborate in conducting original research projects based on mutual interests in science/technology. The amount of money available for Small-Scale grant awards is dependent on earnings from the principal. Thus the number of grants awarded fluctuates based on current market conditions.
- There are five grants available for June 2008- May 2009.
- The Large Scale Student-Faculty Collaborative Research Grants support projects of a larger nature. These can include multiple students working with a team of mentors over several years. The award requires project proposals to focus on research that has an outcome that can be realized during a specified time frame and culminate in a publishable research project or larger grant application. One or two grants are awarded per year.
For more information, read the lists of previously funded Small and Large Scale grants.
Applications for Small Scale Grants and Large Scale Grants are accepted on a rolling deadline.
Please apply at least 6 weeks prior to the proposed start date.
Both student and faculty must be currently at the College of St. Catherine.
