The College of St. Catherine is both a Catholic institution and a diverse multicultural community. The college values ecumenism and collaboration among all faiths. Exploring religious and spiritual practices of many traditions can lead to a deeper understanding of and commitment to one’s own faith.
A Passion for Justice inspires Women, Liturgy and the Arts
The Center for Women and Spirituality seeks to develop and strengthen scholarship and programs at the College of St. Catherine for the study and understanding of spirituality in women’s lives, and to serve as a resource for scholars and others who are interested in women’s spirituality.
Women, Liturgy and the Arts, a multi-tier effort to highlight the contributions of women to religious celebration through the visual arts, architecture, literature, music and liturgical dance, is inspired by the presence at the College of the personal papers and many works of liturgical artist and social-justice activist, Ade Bethune.
As an ongoing effort, Women, Liturgy and the Arts will include exhibits of the work of Ade Bethune and other liturgical artists, as well as new music and works created by college faculty and staff.
