This quiet, peaceful setting, with its home-cooked meals, has space for 21 guests in a cedar log retreat house set on 91 acres 55 miles north of the Twin Cities. It also has a cottage for four and a hermitage for one. ARC (which stands for Action, Reflection, Celebration) is a Christian residential retreat center for people seeking rest and spiritual renewal. It offers private, group and thematic retreats, such as nurturing body and soul through baking, couples’ retreats, desert spirituality and book retreats.

The Dwelling was founded in 1989 by two Sisters of St. Joseph. It is a non-profit, non-sectarian retreat center located 2 hours north of the twin cities. There are five hermitages, five miles of trails, a labyrinth, a wood-burning sauna and a Mediation Building. The Dwelling provides a place of peace and solitude for healing, growth and transformation of the human spirit. The hermitages are modern yet simple. All have screened in porches, kitchenettes and wood-burning stoves for seasonal enjoyment. There are opportunities to enjoy delicious whole foods, bodywork, spiritual direction and a connection with nature. Single occupancy or groups up to 17 are welcome.
